Mono Settlement Agreement

On September 28, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, California Trout, and other parties (California Department of Fish and Wildlife and Mono Lake Committee) reached a Settlement Agreement to resolve all outstanding issues related to restoration of the creeks tributary to Mono Lake. The settlement is pending before the State Water Resources Control Board for approval.  In its 1983 decision in the Mono Lake Cases, the California Supreme Court held for the time that water diversions must protect public trust resources, including fishing, ecosystem, and navigation, against unnecessary harm.

Water and Power Law Group represents CalTrout in the Mono Lake Cases.  Richard Roos-Collins has been its trial counsel in these cases since 1991.
