Completion of Klamath Dam Removal

Today, Klamath River Renewal Corporation completed removal of the four dams of the Lower Klamath Project.  The deconstruction took only 10 months, beginning January 2024 with reservoir drawdown.  This work was completed on schedule and budget.  The Renewal Corporation is now turning to restoration of the former reservoir lands, as wildlife habitat, with completion of that work expected by 2028.  This enterprise is the largest dam removal, also the largest river-restoration project, in history.  For further information, see https://klamathrenewal.org/
