Smith Mountain Lake Settlement Agreement

Appalachian Power Company and four Virginia counties (Bedford, Campbell, Franklin, and Pittsylvania) reached a Settlement Agreement for management of shoreline properties at Smith Mountain Lake. The settlement establishes a cooperative program between the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the counties, and the utility, to enhance property values, marine businesses, and environmental quality through coordinated land use regulation.
Water and Power Law Group represents the counties, through the Tri-County Relicensing Commission.
